Kiss the Cook Catering is now a proud preferred supplier to YWCA Toronto
For more than 150 years, the YWCA Canada has worked to advocate for women’s rights and address a widespread array of challenges faced by women through research, advocacy and community campaigns. The organization has a long and successful history of delivering meaningful results to those who need it most across our city. And now we’re proud to be helping to advance that incredible story—in a delightfully delicious way!—as a new addition to the preferred caterers of the YWCA Toronto.
That’s right, we’ll be serving up our Kiss the Cook goodness to corporate and social event guests at the YWCA Toronto in the form of exciting food stations, signature plated menus and super-creative desserts and hors d’oeuvres—and everything in between—in the months ahead. That new partnership is even more exciting when you consider that 2020 will mark the YWCA’s 150th year of service in Canada. And we love helping anyone celebrate a very special birthday!
That’s even more special when you consider that all of the proceeds raised from their amazing programming and event rentals go to pay for programs for women and girls, according to YWCA Toronto venue rentals coordinator Agata Nowicka.
Of course, the organization will seem even more impressive when you get a chance to explore their incredible home on Elm Street in the city’s bustling downtown core. It features a wide variety of event spaces such as Nancy’s Auditorium, which YWCA administrators point out is perfect for corporate gatherings, lectures, concerts, movie screenings, culinary exploration and awesomeness (OK, that last part was from us, but you get the idea). The 40-foot by 52-foot space holds up to 180 people and can accommodate round-table seating for added flexibility. It comes with all the necessary accoutrements including high-tech audio-visual equipment, full Internet access, a cinema-quality DLP projector and an 87-inch by 139-inch projection screen, along with a variety of microphones. Best of all, it’s a great space for mixing, mingling and is also highly affordable, with full-day rentals extendable by up to two hours at a rate of only $20 per hour.
For smaller get-togethers, the YWCA’s cheerful Rotary Club of Toronto Reception Hall is an ideal option for social affairs such as cocktail parties and networking-heavy events. The room’s warm colour tones and natural wood décor offer a welcoming atmosphere for everything from corporate groups to guests in search of a larger space for engagement or birthday parties. The 21-foot by 45-foot Reception Hall can host 58 people and accommodate up to 40 round tables.
Looking for an even more intimate space for your event? Look no further than the Women’s Community Meeting Room. With a meeting capacity of 14 people, the 17-foot by 19-foot room is built for ideation, creativity and collaboration. It’s also a great spot to enjoy everything from our ultra-fresh array of deli sandwiches to our world-famous pasta dishes. Because you can’t make creative magic on an empty stomach. Access to the YWCA’s full stock of A/V equipment, a 60” LCD television, teleconferencing and whiteboard make this the perfect match for a productivity-focused group.
Last, but not least in the facility’s list of gorgeous meeting spots, is the boardroom known as, well, The Boardroom. It’s available for meetings, presentations and training sessions. At 32-feet by 32-feet, the space is filled with state-of-the-art hardware (included in all rental fees) and can accommodate 30 people at square tables, 30 people in a hollow square configuration and 24 guests in a U-shape table formation.
What we love most about the YWCA is their amazing support staff. They’re on hand for every event and are always ready and willing to provide assistance to help make a function run smoothly.
“People really appreciate our service,” Nowicka says. “They feel it’s very personal and attentive and I think that’s what we pride ourselves in.” We couldn’t agree more.
So, whether we’re serving a bountiful breakfast for your next morning meeting (perhaps on omelette station featuring our delicious Rise and Shine Parfaits or handy Breakfast Bagels), preparing a piping hot lunch with favourites such as our signature spicy Jerk Chicken or Individual Chicken Pot Pies, or offering a carvery food station at dinner, maybe featuring our mouth-watering Beef Tenderloin Platter garnished with grilled vegetables and artisanal breads, rest assured that we have great options for every occasion.
Couple our unforgettable culinary experiences and exceptional service with the YWCA’s amazing event rooms, and I think it’s fair to say we have a perfect match!
