Announcing our New Spring / Summer Menu Release
Spring has finally sprung! With the changing season comes lots of excitement at Kiss the Cook Catering. We’ve spent the winter revamping our menu selections, testing and perfecting new recipes and dreaming about all the amazing events coming down the pipeline. The nice weather shifts us into outdoor catering mode, full of Corporate barbecues, backyard weddings and garden parties. We’re here for it all!
Whether you’re looking to cater finger foods and delicious grazing platters, or a more substantial buffet dinner, we have some of the best food we’ve ever served in store for your special event. Buffets are back in high demand, with abundant offerings and selections ranging from premium grilled meats to carving stations, to fresh made salads and seasonal vegetables prepared to perfection.
This past year we’ve rebuilt our best-ever events team, adding more chefs for offsite events and shifting our gears to more full-service and onsite preparation (thankful that covid is becoming a distant memory!). What’s better than watching talented chefs in action, preparing food fresh in front of you and your guests? What a treat!
Let’s take a look at some of my favorite new menu items for 2023.
Loaded Baked Potato Pops
Who doesn’t love a loaded baked potato? Especially a twice baked. We’re all about the comfort foods at Kiss the Cook, and this is no exception. Executive Chef Chris Canham figured a fun summer bite would be a new potato loaded with the classics – bacon, sour cream, chives and cheddar cheese. If you think it sounds good, it tastes even better! What’s more? We do all the work and you can take the credit. 😉
Braised Short Rib Bites
Speaking of finger foods that are to die for… THIS! Espresso braised beef short rib (our chefs specialty), placed in a homemade Cheddar & Jalapeno Cornbread Cupcake and topped with house Chimichurri. Rustic and decadent, these are the things you never knew you needed in life. We spare no effort in every scratch made layer of this awesome canape. Available now!
Hot new Vegetarian & Vegan Entrees
Dive into our Special Events & Weddings Menus to find incredible new entree’s for vegan and vegetarians. My personal favorite is the Grilled Cauliflower “Steak” (Vegan). Seared Cauliflower is served on a bed of Harissa Sauce with lemon roasted chickpeas, kale and cauliflower puree. I find it to be such an enjoyable plate to eat. We are also featuring a new Garden Vegetable Tart and Summer Gnocchi worth your consideration. Our tried and true classics such as Chana Masala and Eggplant Parmesan remain menu staples.
Buddha Bowl Mania
Since covid we’ve been building a reputation for having some of the best Buddha Bowls (entrée sized salads) in the business! We love these creations as much as you guys do! Each bowl is individually plated. The picture above is of “A thousand little things” named as such because it’s fully loaded with sliced herb and lemon grilled chicken breast, farro, chickpeas, quinoa, Nonna’s rapini, pickled butternut squash, slow roasted fennel, cauliflower, peppers, oven dried tomatoes, pickled red onion, grainy mustard and red wine vinaigrette. *Vegan Option – Grilled Portabella “Steak”
There are six different feature bowls to choose from on our menu and all come with vegetarian / vegan substitutions.
Chocolate Mania
We have many renditions of chocolate and caramel combinations from cookies to tarts to brownies – oh my! Gluten free flourless brownies, chocolate cupcakes, Loaded Smore’s, just to name a few of our Chocolate infatuations. Dessert should always be a memorable part of the meal and we’ve curated and created a wide selection of sinful sweets for your next soiree. It’s time for indulgence and cheat days – summer here we come!
If you’re planning a special event and would like menu recommendations, the above are only a small tasting of what we can do. Contact our events planning team and start dreaming up your perfect menu today.
