Yes, breakfast is the most important meal of the day—and our corporate meal service is the perfect way to get it started!
When I was growing up breakfast was a big event for our family—especially on Sundays.
My detail-obsessed mom would put together an early-morning feast of pancakes or omelettes or French toast. Oh, and I can’t forget the bacon. In addition to all of that, she’d also be sure to lay homemade jams and other breakfast-friendly condiments on the table for us to enjoy. Now, to be fair, there were days when our breakfast was cereal from a box, but when mom put her mind to getting creative in the kitchen in those early hours, the result was always a feat of deliciousness.
One of the most memorable aspects of those breakfasts was waking up to the incredible aroma that used to fill our house, not to mention the fun of starting the day together as a family around the table. Those unforgettable experiences were on my mind when we launched our corporate breakfast catering service here at Kiss the Cook Catering—and they’ve continued to influence our approach to breakfast catering in the years since.
It’s all built on one very important idea: creating amazing breakfast menus that help your team start their day the right way—or to show clients how much you love them by providing some tasty eats for in-house meetings. Best of all, our breakfast program is also flexible and affordable. Whether your breakfasts are subsidized or paid entirely from the company’s coffers, we can create a customized menu and budget that meets your needs and helps contribute to an even stronger employee culture. Need to serve different sized groups of employees or clients, depending on the day? No problem. We cater to groups of anywhere from 10 to 1,000 employees with our meal drop-off and daily corporate cafeteria programs.
We simply can’t think of a better tool to help attract and retain top talent than offering them a healthy meal to start their work day!
Turns out kicking it all off with a hearty meal could have health benefits, too. Yes, there’s a reason they call breakfast the most important meal of the day. According to a recent article in Psychology Today new research indicates that when you eat is just as important as what goes into your body. One such study, published in the Journal of Nutrition, found that participants who enjoyed their largest meal at breakfast “were less likely to be overweight or obese compared to those who ate their largest meal at lunch or dinner. And those who ate breakfast were more likely to be a healthy weight than those who skipped breakfast.” Other studies have arrived at similar results.
As the author notes: “Breakfast truly may be the most important meal of the day, and consuming more calories in the morning and fewer as the day goes on is an effective way to maintain a healthy weight.”
The caveat, of course, is that those meals should be wholesome and healthy. On that front, we’ve got you covered. We use only the freshest ingredients and make our items from scratch whenever possible.
Our Rise and Shine Parfaits, for example, are a waistline-friendly fan favourite. We build these individual cups of morning joy with layers of fresh berries, vanilla yogurt and crunchy granola. And we can’t forget to mention our amazing power bowls chock full of whole grains and juicy fruits, our tempting chia breakfast jars and our flavour-and-vitamin-packed fruit smoothies.
The Kiss the Cook breakfast menu really does have options for everyone in your workplace. Need a quick bite on the go? Our continental menu features a tasty selection of freshly baked muffins, Danish, croissant and bagels made in-house or sourced from the best bakeries in the Greater Toronto Area. We cap it all off with a hearty selection of toppings including cream cheese, fruit preserves and butter, not to mention your choice of fresh fruit platter or fruit kebobs with yogurt dip.
Our English muffin breakfast sandwiches—lightly-toasted English muffins with farm-fresh scrambled eggs, sharp cheddar and smoky bacon—and BLT and club sandwiches are also hugely popular options for corporate types who need to eat on the fly. The best part: we carefully wrap each sandwich to create a warm bundle of tasty goodness.
If your staff has a little extra time to dine—and we really hope they have the opportunity to sit down over breakfast, break bread and share ideas—we offer awesome chef stations with made-to-order frittatas, pancakes, scrumptious egg burritos and even individual Quiche Lorraine or Florentine served with breakfast potatoes and your choice of fresh fruit platter or fruit kebobs with yogurt dip. We also love staging fun beverage stations featuring cold pressed juices, those aforementioned fruit smoothies, fruit punches, spa water and mocktail mimosas, which are always a hit (and who says they always have to be MOCKtails!?).
Somewhere my mother is wondering: when are you going to get to the best part? In her view, that would be thinking of outside the box and putting a unique spin on classic dishes to make breakfast completely unforgettable. That’s where our food stations get even more creative. Case in point: we recently staged a Hawaiian breakfast station complete with Hawaiian décor and Hawaiian-themed dishes such as cheese perogies topped with Kahlua-pulled pork, tropical coconut yogurt parfaits and scrambled egg sandwiches on Hawaiian buns.
While our themed stations are a Kiss the Cook calling card, we’re just as good at preparing the classics. That would be our hot breakfast menus featuring a selection of scrambled eggs, fluffy buttermilk pancakes with maple syrup, buttermilk Belgian waffles and breakfast burritos. Oh, and then there’s our meat options—everything from crisp turkey bacon and savoury farmers’ sausage, to think and juicy peameal bacon. We pair those options with a selection of golden potatoes and fresh fruits.
The best part about a Kiss the Cook breakfast program is that you can mix and match items, while creating your own customized food stations. Why not add a pancake or omelette station to your breakfast service, for example, or maybe treat your team to a French toast feast or a customized burrito bonanza?
The possibilities are endless. So, too, are the energy and engagement you can generate by developing an uber-fun, customized breakfast menu and setting the stage for your employees or clients to spend their first meal of the day together.
